Welcome to our site, the 236th Toronto Scouting Group. We are glad you took time to view our site. If you need a youth program with activities for your child such as Beavers, Cubs, Scouts or Venturers, we do hope you will join our group. We have a great program with youth oriented adventure, challenges, lots of fun, and give youth the opportunity to make friends. The leaders (all volunteers), teach loads of neat stuff and the youth come away with great memories that they will want to share with their friends and future generations. If you are looking for history, the 236th has had continuous Scouting since 1950. Scouting is co-ed and has been at the 236th Group for many years.
We know what's fun and we do a lot of fun stuff. What do you like, Camping, Hiking, Doing Good Deeds, Tours, Rapelling, Water Activities, Wall Climbing, Mountain Bike trail riding, Jamborees, Camporees, Parades, Swimming, Archery. We will give you this and more, how about a badge program, encourage self discipline and promote trust and honour.
Scouting grows and changes, and we grow with the times. The 236th teaches youth that are interested to play the guitar and/or the drum. In the subheaders on the left, you can see links to our First Light Scout Band and to Drums.
Regular meetings at Holy Name Church (Danforth and Gough - 1 block west of Pape Subway), meeting each Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers from age 5 to 17 years from Sept to June. Then what, at 18, youth become Junior leaders giving back some of the great program support that has been the foundation of growth in Scouting. Volunteerism.
Leaders and Group Committee are screened, interviewed and backgrounds checked to ensure a safe environment for our children.
